How to Prevent Frizz

How to Prevent Frizz

HowtopreventfrizzThe summer is known for the hot weather, good drinks, and memorable vacations. But, unfortunately, it is also known for humidity, which causes the dreaded frizzy hair. If you are dealing with this nightmare, don’t fear, here are 8 awesome steps of how to avoid frizzy hair on humid days.

Step 1

Purchase a sulfate free shampoo. Sulfate is rough on your hair and strips away natural oils that fight frizz.

Step 2

Make sure to always use conditioner after shampooing. Apply a generous amount, but avoid applying to the roots or they will become too greasy. Do not rinse off the conditioner right away. Wash your body, face, and shave, then rinse off the conditioner. This makes it so your hair has plenty of time to absorb the conditioner. Then, end with a leave-in conditioner for extra soft locks.

Step 3

Do not use any kind of brush that will stretch or damage your hair. Use a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush on your wet hair. Using either one will prevent damage and frizz.

Step 4

Apply a sulfate-free anti-frizz serum. Remember that a sulfate-free will always fight frizz better than those with sulfates. Plus, sulfates can strip color treated hair.

Step 5

Do not blow dry your hair. Blow dryers cause frizz. Instead, let your hair air dry, or use a plug-in household fan. Fans create less frizz because they make an “air-dome” around your head, and it dries your hair all at once. Remember that if you use a fan, keep your face about 6 inches away and use a paddle brush.

Step 6

Use de-frizzing hairspray on the bristles of your paddle brush. Then brush the top parts of your head to stop frizz and flyaways.

Step 7

Enjoy frizz-free hair!
